The Miami Antiques + Art + Design Show is over. We did quite well, selling across the board including four lamps, French cameo glass and Tiffany lamps, glass and desk pieces. Attendance was fairly decent the first two days, but Sunday was quite slow. Even still we sold every day including two sales on Sunday.

Asking around, I heard about 50/50 good comments vs. complaints. Glass dealers did fairly well while painting dealers I spoke to did not.
Now we’re getting ready for the big Original Miami Antique show at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Center. It opens to the public this Friday at 11 AM and continues until Monday at 5 PM. Got my fingers crossed it will go well. It’s a much bigger show than last week’s Airport Show, so there’s more action. If you can only make one show in Miami, this is the one. I’m looking forward to seeing you there. Stop by and say hello.
Can’t wait to get back into the renovated Miami Beach Convention Center next year. Construction is supposed to be finished by August, 2018, so I’m hopeful it will come true. More on that in a future blog post.

The Miami Antiques + Art + Design Show is over. It’s been a modest success, for which I’m thankful. Attendance was light to moderate for the entire show, but enough of the right people showed up to make it profitable. French glass sold best, which has been the usual modus operandi for most shows. 
This week the highly anticipated Original Miami Beach Antique Show will open to the public on Thursday at noon, as usual at the Miami Beach Convention Center. You should attend not only because it’s a great show, but also for the memories. The show will move to the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition in 2017, but hopefully will return to the Convention Center in 2018, after the completion of construction.
The Florida antique shows are about to begin. Yippee! Next week buyers and sellers will converge on Miami from all over the world to transact business, making it an exciting time of year. The first show is called the Miami Antiques + Art + Design Show, but is often referred to as the Airport Show. It will open to the public on Friday, January 22, 2016 at noon. Business is usually very good with lots of action — like Vegas, but without the gambling.
